In Tower of Fantasy, weapons are obtainable as rewards or from Special Orders (gacha/summoning system), and you can bring 3 different weapons at any given time.
There are a total of 12 different weapon classes in the game, each with its own stats and skills that determine their movesets, as well as having an element and type.
To view all their abilities, you can tap the "!" icon below the icon of the weapon on the weapons screen. This shows all of its available attacks like normal, airborne, charged, dodge, etc, as well as their multipliers.
The "Shatter" value shows their strength at breaking enemy shields, while Charge is how fast/slow they are at charging their weapons.
All weapons have their own Attack and HP stats, but the third one can either be Resistance or Crit, depending on the weapon. These stats can be increased when leveling up the weapon, but not the Shatter and Charge values.
Weapons have a rarity to them: R, SR, and SSR. Getting a SR or higher weapon will also give a "Simulacra" (character skin) as a reward, which also has their own progression milestones that can give rewards like player avatar, character log, and a unique passive when they are used.
Type & Element
Below the GS (Gear Score) shows the icons of the weapon's "Type" and "Element". A weapon's element is related to the game's element system.
There are Fire, Ice, Lightning, and Physical elements, each with their own effect that's shown below the weapon's stat.
On the other hand, the weapon's Type is related to the game's Resonance system. This is a feature that's unlocked once you're at a certain point in the game, and you can view this screen by tapping the resonance icon next to the weapon information on the weapons screen.
There are 3 different weapon types in the game: DPS, Defense, and Support. Equipping at least 2 of the same weapon type will give you a certain bonus depending on its type. Not having any shared weapon type will give a "Dissonance" bonus that increases your final damage by 5%. All of these Resonance effects will have an increased effect in "Team Play".
Levelling Weapons
Whenever you view a weapon, you can upgrade it to increase its strength in 2 ways: Enhance and Advance.
Enhance
Enhancing it increases its level by using "Weapon Battery" materials as the experience fodder. Increasing its level this way also increases all of its primary stats, as shown above.
You can tap the "Select All" or the "Enhance" button to automatically have the materials selected give it the most EXP.
At every 10 levels, you'll then need to "Augment" the weapon with a "core" type material based on the weapon's element/type to increase its max level cap by another 10 and increase all skill levels by 1.
Elemental cores are found in crystal ore spots around the world. They can be fused together to upgrade them to higher tiers for higher-level weapons.
As the level increases, you will need more materials to Augment the weapon. But the weapon's leveling system is also tied to your Wanderer's level to prevent players from being able to over level their gear.
Advance
Advance is a form of upgrade that you can do if you obtain a duplicate of a weapon.
Using some gold and the duplicate material, you'll be able to Advance the weapon to increase its star level, giving it increased stats and unlocking additional abilities. Every weapon has a max of 6 stars, so you'll need to get a weapon 7 times to be able to max it out.
Matrix / Matrices
This feature is unlocked once you're at a certain point in the story. Matrix are a form of attachment that can be equipped to a weapon to give it additional stats. They are obtained as rewards or from Special Orders (gacha/summoning system).
Each weapon can equip 4 different Matrix: Mind, Memory, Belief, and Emotion. They have their own Rarity, Stats, and there are also set effects when multiple pieces of the same set are equipped.
A certain Matrix type will always give the same main stats, but their values depend on the rarity of the Matrix:
Thoughts: HP & Crit
Memory: Attack & HP
Faith: Attack & HP
Emotion: Attack & Resistance
Each Matrix can also be Developed/Upgraded similarly to weapons. They can be Enhanced by using Matrix Data Pack (I/II/III) or other Matrix to give it some exp, leveling them up to increase the stats that it gives.
They can also be Advanced by using a duplicate copy of said Matrix to increase the values of the set effect.
